A Weekend in Brugge

Travelling is my favorite activity so far. But it’s not always easy to find the time and the money to fulfill this passion. Although it’s not necessary to go far to be able to discover something new and different. As a travel lover, I have the chance to live in Belgium for 2 reasons. First, it is a very small country which means that it’s pretty easy and fast to travel from one side to another. Secondly, Belgium is in the middle of Europe and it makes travelling on the continent very cheap.

This weekend, we decided to visit Brugge, one of the most beautiful Belgian city and probably my favorite too. I can’t find any word to tell you how much I love this city.  The historic center is named as a UNESCO World Heritage site and is often called the Venice of the North. I am so in love with the medieval Flemish little houses and the canal that goes all over the city. I also love that each street has something to offer, every corner is a big surprise.

It was not my first time there and I have to say that each time is so different, because there is always something new to see. If you decide to visit Brugge. The only advice I will give you is ‘take your time’. Take your time to wander through the numerous small streets, take time to explore the city by the water by doing a river cruise, take your time to taste one of the many Belgian beers. But mostly, take your time to appreciate every peaces of this wonderful place.

Brugge seems amazing. I cannot wait until I’m done with medical school so I can begin taking time off to travel. I have to put this on my travel list. It’s a beautiful place from what I see on your post.

Gorgeous images. My favourite image is the first one of the town square with all the colours, buildings in the back and people all about. The contrast of the historical buildings and the modern people is so well done.

Brugge looks like a gorgeous place to visit. What I love most about the European cities that I’ve traveled to is that they all seem to have a city/center square. So united!
