My Favorite Travel Mobile Applications

Are you a mobile application and Itech lover ? Are you a travel addict ? Putting your phone away during travelling is not an option for you ? If you answered ”yes” to these questions, besides having things in common with me, you will for sure be interested in this post.

I really love discovering new apps. And even if I have lots of these on my phone, there are some that I prefer and that I simply cannot do without while travelling.

Here are some of my favorites free travel mobile applications.

BEEN

This app is awesome for people who love travelling and whose dream is to see as much as they can in a lifetime. With Been, you can track countries you have visited and you get a ratio for each continent and for the world. Probably not an app that you will use everyday while you are travelling, but fun though. I love it !

What I like : You have a global view of the places you have visited and you can share it on social media.

What I dislike : There are some mistakes in it. Also, I wish It would be possible to track the cities and not just counties, because It is not because you visit Paris that you have visited France ! Right ?

RECHO

Recho is one of the last applications I discovered. It lets you leave a voice message tied to an exact location and you can also hear what other people record in the same place.

What I like : It is a unique and fun way to explore new places or even rediscover your own hometown.

What I dislike : The app really misses a map, because this black screen is a bit boring.

MAPS.ME

MAPS.ME_logo

Maps.me offers maps for all countries and cities. You are probably thinking what’s the point to download this application if we all already have Google map on our self phone and the answer is that there is a big and essential difference. Maps.me is working offline and that’s a big deal.

What I like : You can use the app offline and when travelling it is pretty useful, because it is not always possible to find wifi.

What I dislike : NOTHING

TRIVE

As a very organize person, this app just makes me so happy. As an organisation addict, like me, or if you  just struggle to organize your pics, this app is for you. The concept is very simple, Trive adds a geolocation tag to every photo and then organizes them according to the place, displaying them on a map and also telling you how many mile’s you’ve travelled so far.

What I like : I tend to forget where I took my pics so this app is very useful for me. And I love that my pictures are all sorted.

What I dislike : It works only for IOS (I have an Iphone for the moment, but before I had a samsung and as a changes lover, I am pretty sure that when my current phone will die I will change the brand and so getting back to android obviously).

CAMEO

Cameo allows you to edit videos. You can add a soundtrack, text and use filters to create super cool videos from your travels.

What I like : The app is so easy to use. Your video is edited in a few minutes.

What I dislike : NOTHING ! For the moment, I didn’t find another app that surpasses this one.

TIPULATOR

This app is very useful, it helps you calculate the tip you have to give in a restaurant or a bar.

What I like : Saving time at a restaurant by using this app to calculate what amount of money everyone has to pay.

What I dislike : This app should give some advices on tips around the world, this functionality is really missing.

I hope you enjoyed this post. As you may understand, I am an Itech lover, so don’t hesitate to let a comment if you know some great mobile applications that you think I will like.

Travel apps are so convenient to have especially if you travel frequently. I like that map that you can use offline, because it’s going to come in handy if you find yourself a little confused or lost in a place you’re not familiar with with no wifi nearby!

Great post! I love discovering good new apps. I’m curious if you have a budget app. I’m using TrabeePocket and I love it. It’s the first one I actually love. You can keep track of what you spend and see how much went to food or accommodation. The Been app sounds great too. Must try 🙂
